Aceh is one of the province in Indonesia. In Indonesia, Aceh is known as a province that has richness of art. One of the art is traditional dance. Many traditional dance born in Aceh, such : Rapa'i Geleng, Saman Gayo, Ranub Lampuan, Likok Pulo. Every traditional dance has their own characteristic and phylosophy. Most of the tradional dance is followed by backsound of traditional music instrument.

One of traditional dance of Aceh is Rapa'i Geleng. This traditional combine of dance movement, traditional song, and the sound of traditional music instrument "rapa'i". Every dance movement has different song and music instrumental. The song lyrics reflects the culture of acehnese, also tells about islamic though.

Rapa'i Geleng traditional dance broadly known due to the energetic and quickness of the movement. The movement of the dance is fit to the song. There's a singer that lead the dance named as "syeh".In general, rapa'i geleng traditional dance divided into three part: "saleum" (opening), stories (acehnese culture and islamic though), and closing. Many variation of dance movement is included to stories part as the longest part of the dance. For professional rapa'i geleng dancer, they can play more than five dance movement.
Rapa'i Geleng traditional dance is derived from South Aceh. But nowadays this dance has become popular through all part of Aceh, all part of Indonesia, and also into world wide. In many places, there's community that study and preserve this traditional dance.
